Pack 130 Volunteer Leadership
All parents are encouraged to get involved in the program in any way they can, and there are lots of ways to make contributions! Remember that our childrens’ Cub Scout experience will only be as good as the energy and commitment we each make. All it takes is for you to 'Do Your Best' too!

2-year term: Assist Committee Chair as needed. Learn the position and take over the role of Committee Chair when current Chair’s term is over. Work with YPT Coordinator to ensure Den Leaders have completed YPT. Work with Training coordinator to identify volunteers for specific training. Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week |

Cubmaster |
2-year term. Qualifications: Is at least 21 years old; and registered adult leader of the BSA. Able to communicate well with adults as well as boys; delegate responsibilities and set a good example through behavior, attitude, and uniform. Responsibilities:

2-year term. Assist Cubmaster with attending various pack activities including Pack meetings and other Pack activities. Be prepared to take on the role of Cubmaster. Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per month |

Treasurer |
2-year term. Attend monthly pack planning meetings and report on the pack’s financial condition. Keep up-to-date financial records. Report to BUMC as requested on the financial condition of the Pack. Ensure the Pack’s finances are sound. Help establish a sound financial program for the Pack with a Pack budget plan. Open and/or maintain a bank account in the Pack’s name. Approve all budget expenditures. Check all disbursements against budget, and pay bills timely. Present expenses that are not in the ordinary course to Committee Chair for approval. Collect dues, give receipts and make timely deposits of all funds. Provide a list of dues collected to Registration Coordinator for entry into Scoutbook. Work with families who are unable to pay with an offer of a scholarship or reduced dues. Collect campout fees and other activity fees, such as Blue & Gold; give receipts and provide list of participants to appropriate Coordinator. Be responsible for thrift training within the Pack to reduce unnecessary expenditures. Manage the payment of expense reimbursement from Den Leaders. Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per month. 2-year term. Attend monthly pack planning meetings. Take minutes during pack planning meetings. Send out agenda prior to pack planning meetings. Prepare minutes and distribute at pack planning meetings. Handle correspondence for the pack. This may include writing letters of appreciation and requests for reservations, or ordering supplies through the local council service center. Time Commitment: 3 hours per month |

Each Den to provide a volunteer to assist Popcorn Kernel by distributing popcorn order sheets at den meetings, communicating important popcorn sales deadlines, and collecting the forms and money from each scout and giving to Popcorn Kernel. Assist with popcorn pickup from warehouse and distribution at Scout House. Time Commitment: 2-3 hours during sales period; 4-5 hours on distribution day |

Campout Coordinator |
Must be BALOO trained. Identify dates for Fall and Spring campouts and attend Pack Planning Meeting to discuss and get approval. Draft campout plan. At park, reserve appropriate group campsite and book it as soon as possible. Work with Treasurer to make the down payment (typically 50% is required to book the campsites) and the final payment upon arrival. Work with Ranger to arrange fire pit suitable for bonfire activities and coordinate a 1-2 hour service project for Saturday. Two weeks in advance or so, fill out and file a Campout Activity plan and file with BSA on line. Communicate details at Pack Meetings and with Den Campout Coordinators. Create and email Campout packet as soon as possible after the details are confirmed to the entire pack. On Campout:

Religious Award Coordinator |
Promote Religious Awards to Pack as Duty to God requirement; Manage sign-up list; order books and distribute; Send reminders to ensure scouts are on schedule; Organize pizza party for scouts who have completed or need the Reverend to sign their books in January; Order awards for Blue & Gold ceremony. Assist Cubmaster in handing out awards. Busiest times: Sept – Feb |

Scouting for Food Coordinator |

Service Project Coordinator

Plan and coordinate 4 service projects, one each season Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring. Attend Pack Planning Meeting to get approval. Touch base with BUMC to identify and respond to their needs; Organize and communicate with the Pack with details of each service project. Provide Committee Chair with a summary of the event, include number of scouts attending, number of adults, and number of siblings. Provide objective statics to describe the success of each project. Time Commitment: 2-3 hours planning for each project, plus time at the event. |

Ship Trip/Special Overnighter Coordinator

In coordination with the Pack Planning Committee, arrange for the Pack to either do a ship or other special campout in either the spring or fall; Collect details and send information out to Pack. Coordinate registration and payment with Treasurer; Be the Pack Point of Contact for the event. Time Commitment: 5-6 hours planning, plus time at the event |

Pinewood Derby Coordinator
|
Plan and organize PWD. Order PWD kits and distribute at Pack Meeting. Hold a Cut Day prior to event. Set up track, car racks, pit and registration table on Registration Day. Recruit volunteers for photos, to create licenses, run the pit, announcer, etc. Busiest Time: Dec/Jan |
